Here are some snapshots at how the past two weeks have been!

Summary of week 1: It was my last week in Davis, so I figured I wanted to spend time with people and say goodbyes. I got philz, started watching Autumn's Concerto, and got to sit with Amanda on the ground in our now very empty room lol. I think my favorite day that week was getting lost while trying to go to the beach and being v lazy and sitting on sand. Lol I also thought my car was dying because liquid was leaking out from under it, so I got that checked out. I guess it's also important to mention that I hung out with Roberto on Friday night before I left for Washington and stuff happened there that followed me into week 2 (which I'll delve into in week 2 summary)

Summary of week 2: HELLO SEATTLE! (and the rest of the state of Washington) My parents picked me up from Davis on Saturday morning and began the road trip to first go to Crater Lake in Oregon. Honestly, the lake reminded me of the huge lake in Kimi No Na Wa / Your Name, and we actually went there at twilight/katewaredoki and I was having some serious emotional and fan-girling moments while staring at the lake. The next day, we hiked up and around the edge, and I swear, that's the most out of shape I've felt in a while. But it felt good being able to make it to the top (and we walked through snow too lol in like 80 degree weather) I also drank boozy coffee to celebrate my mom's birthday!
The next day, we explored Seattle and went to Pike's Place Public Market. And I just felt so in awe and super giddy to be able to feel the energy of the city. It was also hella touristy dang. But on my quest to find many bathrooms and the original starbucks, I passed by a lot of cool little shops. I touched the gum wall (more like a gum alley) and I got to order a tall caramel iced coffee with some half and half from the OG STARBS (refer to insta if you want more deets) Then, my parents and I walked through the Pioneer Square district and stumbled upon a park with giant chess, giant jenga, giant connect 4 and I got to play with my parents :) Then we walked around some more to Chinatown and got food.
The next two days in Seattle, I got to live out my Grey's Anatomy dreams of riding the ferry and seeing the house that Meredith Grey and the other interns lived on. Also ate some tasty ice cream from Molly Moon's, and saw awesome view from Kerry Park. OH yeah, the glass museum was beautiful and a great place to think about life and process things.....like (how I have feelings for Roberto lol and how that affects our friendship.)
Somewhere along the trip, we went to very snowy and cold areas, and saw mountains, hiked more, breathed in fresh, clean air. And it was just really nice being able to spend time with my parents and unplugging whenever I would enter the land of no signal. I felt a little lonely during the trip because after discovering my feelings for Roberto, I didn't know how to feel about it, and it made things kind of complicated, so I wanted to talk to people about it but I wasn't in Davis, so there was a lot of messaging people and receiving a lot of grace, truth, scripture, and affirmation.
I think overall, I just really liked being in nature (even though I realized that I'm scared of walking in heights/right next to cliffy areas) but also being the city and feeling the energy. But TBH, I like Portland more, so hopefully I can go back there for more adventures.
And then I spent about 15 hours in Davis, drove my car down to SoCal, and now I'm in Torrance. So stay tuned for Week 3's update and how home is :) I miss and love all of you so much! (gj if you actually read this whole post)

Love,
Christina
